Born in London, Paul relocated to raise his children in Sussex. After which, Paul retrained and specialised in the counselling of children and young people, managing services in West Sussex schools. Paul has much experience in supporting students in mainstream (primary & secondary), special and independent schools. Paul also mentors undergraduate and postgraduate students through contracts with universities. Paul also sees adults and specialises in the treatment of psychological trauma. He has found both Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy & Brainspotting (a new and interesting offshoot of the former) to be particularly effective in the treatment of trauma, as well as in the treatment of depression, anxiety, OCD, phobia, and a growing list of other symptoms and "disorders". These therapies are effective treatments for both adults and children. Paul is Accredited in counselling & psychotherapy and separately, in EMDR for both Adults (Qualified to Level IV) AND Children (Qualified to Advanced Level II) . Not many local EMDR therapists are EMDR UK accredited  for the treatment of adults OR children. 

Accreditation schemes aim to recognise the achievement of high standards of knowledge, experience and development in counselling and psychotherapeutic treatment. Accreditations can be used to help clients, employers, practitioners and students to make an informed decision when choosing a therapist, service or training course.
